Traditionally, Old Man Saltbush seeds were used as a food source by the Aboriginal people of Australia. The leaves are also edible, salty in flavour and rich in protien, antioxidants and minerals. The leaves are grey-green, small and irregularly shaped. This fast growing woody shrub may be grown in the ground, used as an edible hedge, or kept in pots.
