Jostaberry is a cross between a Blackcurrant and Gooseberry. They are easy to grow bushes that are more vigorous than the parents, and combine their best characteristics. They are resistant to American Gooseberry Mildew, free of spines and need little prunes. The large juicy fruit ripen December to January and intermediate in size between Blackcurrant and Gooseberry. You can eat them fresh or in fruit salad, is great in desserts and makes a delicious jam.
